The REFRATIVA R.I.O COURSE is an immersion course (five days) on refractive surgery aimed at transferring knowledge and promoting an update on the subspecialty.

R.I.O stands for Research in Ophthalmology. We believe that research and in-depth knowledge, using scientific evidence associated with practical experience are the very core of our course and research group, which has the same name.  

Throughout the year, those enrolled in the course will have access to discussion of cases and articles published in WhatsApp groups that are exclusive to course participants and coordinated by Dr. Marcony Santhiago.

NATIONAL SANITARY SURVEILLANCE AGENCY - ANVISA

To comply with ANVISA regulation RDC 96/08 during the R.I.O 2020 REFRACTIVE COURSE - Research in Ophthalmology, free samples of medications will not be allowed.  Institutional gifts, i.e., those bearing the company’s name such as pharmaceutical labs, are allowed as long as they do not have any identification of the drug provided by that company. 

Advertisement of drugs is only allowed for professionals authorized to prescribe or dispense medications. 

Thus, name badges will be differentiated and include the following information:  PRESCRIBER and NON-PRESCRIBER.
